Our Vision

We follow Christ and help others follow Christ to bring God glory!

We are united as a church to see God's glory. We cry with Moses that we do not want to go one step further unless we know that the glory of God in the face of Christ is revealed among us. And for that end, we are praying that God would show himself in such a way that the only explanation that we could have for that is by saying, "God showed up." Specifically we are praying that God would bring into our body

1% of the City of Anderson.

This will not happen in our own ability. This will only happen if God shows up in our body in a very real and tangible way.

We are not there yet. And we won't get there by one or two major shifts in our church. We will only get there by ten thousand baby steps. Ten thousand steps in the same direction, ten thousand God empowered steps in God's direction.

To that end we are encouraging all of our people to answer and act on these three basic questions:

What is one area I need to be more about God's glory than my own?
What is one area that I need to grow in Christ in the coming season?
Who is one person that I can share Christ with and invite to church?

It starts with us as individuals. It will not be true for all of us until it is true for each of us.

But what will it look like for our church body when we see this?

We believe that there are some basic characteristics that will our church will look like as it grows in healthiness. Here are some things we believe will describe our church as it grows into the image of Christ.

We are not about our own comfort but God's glory.

  • 40% of our regular attendance will be at prayer nights 4-6 times a year.
  • Every Sunday morning volunteer will have a backup.
  • 10-15% of our budget will go to Missions.
  • We will train pastors or church leaders and send them out to bless other churches.
  • We will help another struggling church revitalize or plant another church, preparing to so again.
  • Each person will grow in consistency in church attendance each year.
  • Each giving unit will give more than they did the previous year in percentage.
  • 9/10 People who call our church their home will have a consistent prayer and Bible time.
  • Each consistent attender and member will have a monthly place to volunteer Sundays.

We are committed to a transformative relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • 75-80% of our church body will be involved in a small group or a Sunday School Class.
  • 9/10 people who call our church their home will have a consistent prayer and Bible time.
  • Every leader will have a backup.
  • Everyone will know their spiritual gifts and have a place to use them.
  • Every member will be able to explain the gospel in thirty seconds.
  • Our church will deal with members in unrepentant sin in a biblical way.
  • Our members will explain the significance of everything that happens on a Sunday morning: songs, communion, baptism, offering, and the sermon.

We are committed to bringing others into a transformative relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • We will have one guest for every regular attendee each year
  • That at least 10% of our guests will come to find their home at this church.
  • A church and a worship service where everyone will feel welcome.
  • We will pray for and work to see 5-12% conversions for our church body each year.
  • We will be diverse ethnically, proportionate to the ethnic makeup of our community.
  • We will be proportionate to the age makeup of our community.
  • Every member will know their testimony and articulate it well.
  • We will be able to offer a biblical counseling ministry to those suffering in our area.
We're not there yet. But by God's grace, tomorrow we will be closer than we are today. And today we're further than we were yesterday. And one day, we believe we look back on where we've been and say with the Psalmist,

Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man!
Psalm 66:5
